Is anyone using the Pan newsreader on openSUSE 10.2 with Gnome desktop?
I wanted to give it try (don't really care for Knode that well) but it
doesn't appear to be included in the box install of openSUSE 10.2. So
I'm wondering if either its (a) not supported on openSUSE 10.2 yet, or
if it
is, (b) how to install it. Yast couldn't find it.
Thanks for any help with this. -Pat

As a yast repository then search again.
Thanks! That worked, and in fact, I'm replying from it right now.
So far I like what I see (the interface seems a little cleaner than
Knodes). One question though. Do you know if there is any documentation
available? Would be useful to have.
Thanks again. -Pat
I searched online but didn't come across any. questions
A 'User's Manual' is being worked on.
OK. Well maybe you could answer a couple of (hopefully) quick questions.
1. What does "Cache Article" do?
2. What does scoring do (or how is it used)?
Pan appears to be a lot more powerful than the Outlook newsreader. So I'm
trying to figure out the best way to use it. For example, if I post a
question and want to monitor responses, should I just watch the thread, or
Cache it, or do something else?
Thanks, -Pat
