Online Update vs System Update?

What's the difference between using "Online Update" vs "System Update" for
updating my system? I ask because if I use Online Update it says there
are no available updates, while System Update comes back with a list of
things to update (mostly packages).
Also, with System Update, it says it "cannot solve all conflicts - Manual
intervention required" with a couple of the packages. If I click on
"Packages" it list three that it can not find "installable
providers of:"
1. evolution data-server 64bits... 1.8.2.7 ppc [SUSE Linux 10.2 updates]
2. liboil-64bit... 0.3.9-15.2 ppc[SUSE-Linux 10.2 updates]
3. mono (galag-sharp)=1.0.0.0 for tomboy 0.4.1-5.14x86_64[20070529-141357]
And with all of these, it gives the option to ignore, or not install, etc.
To resolve these, do I just need to find some other installation
sources that have them? If so, what's the best way to go about that?
Thanks for the help. Still trying to get this stuff sorted out. -Pat
