I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but it sounds like you are
asking if it's possible for windows users to access the Linux CUPS
configuration.
IIRC, if you really want to just bring up a browser and for the URL...
<Server address>:631, eg...
192.168.0.150:631
Of course you'll have to supply a password and all the permissions will
have to be right.
You could also use VNC.
My memory is a bit fuzzy on this as I've found once CUPS is set up you
so seldom need to fiddle with it you forget what you did before.
The driver is already installed in CUPS for Windows client
But some advanced fuctionalities are not available under CUPS, but are
available under a Windows print server
My situation is a litle bit tricky ;>)
OIC - You are saying the windows server printing system has some bells
and whistles that CUPS does not.
In that case I'd have to refer you to google searches. It might help to
enter the printer model in some searches. I've found that often there
are newer more featured drivers available than are shipped with the
distro. Geez, I once built CUPS from source. But you don't need to do
that. Be sure to check the HP site if you haven't. HP has outstanding
Linux support, IMO. Their inkjets are all that I use.
Also remember that the key element to a CUPS driver is a ppd file.
