You got stuck with that type of TV card, eh? Yeah they are a PITA. Myself
I have a 8 year old *real* Haupauge Brooktree based WinTV card based on
the with 848/878 IC. Mine is supported out of the box. Been a great card
- Works with everything. But for some reason when you do a make oldconfig
the setting doesn't get enabled for the card. So I had to redo it the
"make config" way and select that option. That's OK though because if
you have to recompile a 2.6 series kernel and you only change 1-2
things the recompile is very fast. It took maybe 10 minutes to fix.
Actually that card (PVR 350) has worked for a while but you have to get
under the hood and get your hands dirty. If you get impatient I can
supply you the links on how to get it working.
I can't understand why you have so much trouble with lm_sensors. I just
ran sensors-detect, did with it told me to and that was it.
Like I said I haven't got the right source added yet. I just figured out
how to do that last night. Can't add the package if Yast doesn't show it.
BTW, Packman is not referenced at the URL you cited but rather at...
