/etc/host file question.

I have a small home network with 2 Linux and 1 Windows pc connected with a
router to the internet.
This is what I have in my /etc/host file:
*************************************************************************
#
# hosts This file describes a number of hostname-to-address
# mappings for the TCP/IP subsystem. It is mostly
# used at boot time, when no name servers are running.
# On small systems, this file can be used instead of a
# "named" name server.
# Syntax:
#
# IP-Address Full-Qualified-Hostname Short-Hostname
#
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.101 kubuntu
192.168.1.102 toshiba
************************************************************************
In the header of the host file is written:
On small systems, this file can be used instead of a
"named" name server.
But when I write in Konqueror:
smb://toshiba
I get error message:
The given name could not be resolved to a unique server.
Make sure your network is setup without any name conflicts
between names used by Windows and by UNIX name resolution.
When I write
smb://192.168.1.102 than it's ok.
What am I doing wrong here?
Henk
