It's not a specific warning- it's the fact that any window with an
error message prevents power down:
1. I hit the shut-down-button

Is that on your PC, or something on your screen, like an icon?

An icon
2. I walk away
3. An error occurs

What error? Most likely it is the same program that gives you the error.

Konqueror, Kicker, Smart-GUI, Kontact....>> 4. A window with an error message opens during shutdown
5. Next day I turn on my monitor
6. The window is still there, because shutdown didn't finish
7. My computer used a lot of energy (Global Warming!)

Look in /var/log/messages
Also look as to why the error message occurred. I have never seen such
behaviour. All I know is that no error message is random.

It doesn't happen very often, but I can't help using the newest packages I
can find - And I know it's my own fault then but...

I just wondered if I could finetune my system a little:
Error warnings should be shut off during shutdown.

Good, I was waiting if someone was sending REAL alerts.
