ZoneMinder finally installed and functional as a DV(R?).

Building up a DVR with ZoneMinder, and even with a repository for openSuSE
10.2 with ZoneMinder, there was difficulty. Two versions are available,
jpeg only or with mpeg. Adding the repository and using Yast should do it,
right? Nope, the only difference in the RPM names is .mp. as
zoneminder-1.22.3-0.18.i586.rpm and zoneminder-1.22.3-0.mp.18.i586.rpm
So Yast sees them in the available list and only displays up to the end of
the version number (same for both - zoneminder-1.22.3-0.18) and ignores
listing the other. So which one is listed? The mpeg version is first in
the list on the repository, so I told it to install just in case - it was
not the mpeg version.

So, download and RPM it with -Ui to replace the just done one. No, it tells
me what I don't have installed, 5 library files. There were two avaiable
for Yast to install and the others are not in the repositories, including
guru and packman. Googleing for them only shows them for Knoppix so they
are probably different.

So I did what I should have done to start with:

smart install zoneminder-1.22.3-0.mp.18.i586.rpm

It went looking somewhere and like magic pulled them like rabbits out of a
hat.

So it is running!
Now to have it do what needs to be done - move the mysql database [for the R
part of DVR] to the proper partition, currenly in /srv (ZoneMinder doesn't
let you specify during setup or keeps how to secret or buried). Amazon
shipped me 3 mysql books at the end of the week, so I should have that
figured out soon. It might even be another total reinstall to move /srv to
a monster partition (200G+). Our current Wincrap based DVR uses all of a
250G drive for recording - and it just failed along with the video input
card - $180 vs $25 for the Linux ones.

Looks like I going to be using smart for any and all installs from now on
and forget Yast and RPM.
