I found the guide to install and get beryl running on opensuse 10.2 on thehi, you didn't mention your graphics card. With nvidia beryl is able to
opensuse site.
But i've tryed this guide before without succes.
My system was a mess at the time, but now i've got a clean install of
10.2. So i want to do it right this time.
One question i can't find answered is if need to use GDM as a display
manager?
Because in the guide i found this command:
gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl
It (the guide) says i need this to enable xgl.
But i use KDE and i like to keep my system as clean as possible, so no
gnome stuff if i can avoid it.
So do i need GDM for a 3d desktop beryl in particular?
work, with ATI possibly too. With other cards no luck.
have you installed beryl manager? is xgl running?
I presume you used this guide?:
http://nl.opensuse.org/Beryl
but which steps did you do?
