hi, you didn't mention your graphics card.

I've got a nvidiaGF6800

With nvidia beryl is able to work, with ATI possibly too. With other cards
no luck.
have you installed beryl manager? is xgl running?

but which steps did you do?

i haven't begun yet, i first wanted to know if the guide is any usefull to
me if i keep using KDM as display manager.

I had it working once with opensuse 10.1 so i know my hardware is OK.
