Ok, writing as I am adding the repo. What I read is that Packman is not
unimportand, so just to be sure, have you added Packman as well? I know
it is optional, but still.

I selected zoneminder as installation and it decided that it needed a
LOT of other things and did an automatic change. As I have no intention
of running this, nor any of the other things it selected, I did not do
an actual installation.

However it looked as if there would be no problem. So perhaps adding
packman is not an option as it is a requirement.

Also perhaps smart has Packman already added and YaST not.

Yes I have had packman (not the 'links2linux' one they mentioned) but
http://packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/10.2/ in all of my systems for several
months, and I added have created a script file to add all of them to new
systems, which I used and verified on this one.

And that packman did not have the files. My understanding is that they are
all mirrors. The files are not new enough to have propagation delay
effects.
