Sigh, i still can't get it to work :-(
I followed all the steps in the guide and have gotten the troubleshooting
section.
I had the message decribed there "Another composite manager is already
running"
So i disabled translucency like explaned there, i saved the setting and
logged out and restarted x and logged in again, no change.
Then i added "Composite" "0" to xorg.conf like explaned, and still no
change, well that's not true, rendering of the desktop is now extremely
slow.
Here's a screenshot of my desktop with beryl-manager started from konsole:

I'm stuck just like last time :-/
I had this stuff running once on 10.1 i thought it was made easyer for
10.2?
No, nothing has changed.
check for a .beryl directory and delete it. I don't have a composite line in
xorg.conf. But it should be off if added to this file.
The following link is basically everything what you need:
http://linux.wordpress.com/2007/01/27/opensuse-102-installing-beryl/
check if xgl runs.
