Hi there,

After recently being offered free iptv from my ISP I discovered I had
to swap back from my current Netgear ADSL2+ router to an older ADSL2+
Dynalink I had sitting around, because the Netgear didn't support a
protocol required for the iptv service. I thought the best idea would
be to run YaST, then delete my network card, plug in the Dynalink DSL
router, then reconfigure the network card again as new. The Netgear
uses 192.168.0.1 as its address, the Dynalink 10.0.0.1. When I start
the network card config in YaST it gets to "Read hostname and DNS
configuration" and seems to hang. I watched it sit for over 2 hours
before killing the process.

Is there some way to 'delete' the network card config so I can try
to use my other DSL router?

I've run into very similar problems. I wasn't doing exactly what you
did with deleting network interfaces, but I was trying to switch
between and office and home configuration. You can see my lack of
useful responses here http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2007-01/msg02415.html
and here http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2007-01/msg02740.html so I
wouldn't expect much help.

My solution at the time was to stop using opensuse, I switched to
Kubuntu, a decision I didn't regret. If you find answer, please post
it here. I'm forced back to using opensuse because I now have an Sun
Ultra 40 desktop now and Kubuntu doesn't work on it presumably because
of 32/64-bit issues. So I'd appreciate knowing the answer since I'm
expecting yast issues any second now... :p
