Re: Trash

How does the trash can work? Move the file to another location or rename
the path or move the address. Just curious.

On KDE 3.5.7, there is a .local in your home directory. In that dir, you
will find share/Trash. In the Trash dir, there are two dirs called files
and info. When you delete a file, it is stored in "files". The information,
such as where the file was deleted from, is store in the "info" directory.

The Trash behaves slightly different when deleting a file that's on a NFS
share or another partition. Instead of the .local directory, a directory
called .Trash-1000 where 1000 is your UID, is stored at the root. That's
where the files and info dirs are for that NFS share or partition.
