No idea of Yahoo but I've heard Gaim is now Pidgin.

I noticed just today that Yahoo keeps dropping out. I use GAIM 1.5. Do you
know if Pidgin is worth the effort of installing?

No, I don't.

I'm hardly ever using messengers, but I have "aMSN" for an MSN messenger
account, it works as far as I can tell.

I think I may have logged in about two weeks ago. This was because I
installed Suse for a friend who then also wanted a messenger, so I
installed aMSN. :)
