Re: SuSE 10.2 wireless conection problem

I'w pave another visit to the SuSE and here is te deel:
Model: Ralink 802.11 bg WLAN
....
Vendor identifier. 201871
Vendor: Ralink
....
The rest is not much help. About that output, im old in wireless, but totaly
new in linux, so you gess, I have no idea what you are talking about :)
In widows XP the card is recognized as RT73 USB wireless device

Would drivers from the cd made any diference, there are, I think drivers for
abut 3 linux distribusion, and in that case, can you geve me any pointers in
how to install them, usng yest, or teminal (???)...

And yes, one more observation, half of the network tools that comes with the
instalation do not see the "card" as valid network device, is that normal?

The USB version of the RT2500 is the 2570. Are you sure that you selected
the 2570 driver and not the 2500?

I figured ther would be some problems, but i didn't think that it would
geve me a hard time at this.

Can you post the output of "lsmod" and of "lsusb" with the device plugged
in and loaded?

I have the same problem with that chipset and tried every possible way to
get it to work. But never did, try to google and you see what I mean.
Lot's of problems with this and no good solution. Have tried all kind of
drivers, tried NDIS. Everything fails.

And yet I have one right here at my left elbow working perfectly.

Try to buy a wireless with a well suported chipset.

The RT2500 series chipset is better supported than most.
