What should the filesystems on those disks be and why? Thanks for the comments/suggestions guys. I'll look at this tomorrow as I
I'm asking this because I'm planning to gradually go to that and start
to use SATA disks, with a PCI card to start with.

gotta go do the work thing today...
I bought some 80pin scsi drives but I have 68 pin cables/controllers so I
need to buy some 80/68 pin adaptors first too use them. Then I'll be using
scsi disks again. I prefer them for several reasons one being the ability
to use (Adaptec) scsi select to check and low level format these
drives 'before' any software comes into play... Also, the ones I have are
10,000 rpm fast drives and I like there performance. I usually split my
file system in such a way as to speed things up noticeably as well.
Also, my experience is that scsi drives seem to last longer, at least the
good scsi drives. The last 3 I had lasted 8+ years in a VERY harsh
environment under heavy load...
Again, thanks for the feedback. I'll try the other drive tomorrow.
P.S. I also like the fact that I can have many drives on each of my dual
channel scsi controller mobo.
