Re: Pico on OpenSuse 10.3??

I don't know. If I had a preference, it'd be to use Emacs over vi,

then kedit.

I must honestly say that I have never tried Emacs. I could never get the
hang of pine, so that is the reason I never started to use pico either.

The reason I started using vi, was because I started working on Unix
machines over telnet. Later I want(ed) to be able to ssh from work to
home, as I do now, and use the same programs.

Running putty is easy. What I do like with Kate or Kedit is that you can
have tabbed things. vim now has that as well. Yet normaly I would work
in the following manner.

The large terminal has the code I am working on. The top left is where I
run the program and the bottom right I use for manpages, looking things
up and so on.

If I need, I have a second monitor where I can do and see stuff. So the
need for me for these tabs is very minimal and I will avoid it as much
as possible.
