No, it doesn't work properly.

I have. Nothing wrong there.

The driver does not understand any protocols. This has nothing to do with
teh drivers.

One would think so, and yet from what I and others see, this is still
the case

If the routing it screwed up, it will not be able to get packets back to
your other machine.

I understand that and thus have looked at the settings for my router as
well as on the machine and have seen nothing remotely wrong with it.
