Audacity and openSuse 10.3

Hello,

Audacity 1.3.4-beta
Kernel 2.6.22.13-0.3-default

hwinfo --sound shows I have:

Model: "ASUSTeK SBx00 Azalia"
Vendor: pci 0x1002 "ATI Technologies Inc"
Device: pci 0x4383 "SBx00 Azalia"
SubVendor: pci 0x1043 "ASUSTeK Computer Inc."
SubDevice: pci 0x8249
Driver: "HDA Intel"

AND

Model: "ATI Radeon X1200 Series Audio Controller"
Vendor: pci 0x1002 "ATI Technologies Inc"
Device: pci 0x7919 "Radeon X1200 Series Audio Controller"
SubVendor: pci 0x1002 "ATI Technologies Inc"
SubDevice: pci 0x7919
Memory Range: 0xfdcfc000-0xfdcfffff (rw,non-prefetchable)
IRQ: 10 (no events)
Module Alias: "pci:v00001002d00007919sv00001002sd00007919bc04sc03i00"

I'm attaching a USB sound recording device and Audacity records from
this device with no problems. I have OSS: /dev/dsp (Portaudio v19) set
as my playback device.

If I record some music and then play it back this all works fine.

If I set Audacity to use "Software Playthrough: Play new track while
recording it" it just doesn't work. I have to uncheck this to get the
recording feature to work.

My PC is quite new and using an AMD64 processor. I've tried this on an
old IBM laptop running XP and it works fine.

How can I get this feature to work under openSUSE?

Thanks

Glenn
