I have opensuse 10.3 installed, a basic set-up. All seems to work fine
except the terminal in a root session. It asks me for password, but I
am not able to input any characters into the window in any way - the
keyboard, virtual keyboard, copy-and-paste - nothing works. The
"normal" user terminal window works fine. Any idea what could be
causing the problem and how to fix it?
Marek,
I believe there IS something being put in as you type. It won't show
anything, unlike so many other applications that show asterisks or dots
when you type a password. Try typing the password (in faith that what
you typed IS there) and hitting enter.
Beege
yes.
in konsole at least, there's no indication that a password is being typed.
yet, it is.
