<snip>Why do I get this with mysqlshow? You will have more questions like this.
mysqlshow: Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using
password: NO)
and as root:
mysqlshow: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password:
YES) why can't I access my own system?
I know from (recent) experience :)
So I recomment this:

I have an excellent accounting program called Nolo Accounting complete with
inventory tracking that uses both MySql and MyPHPAdministrator. I followed
the instructions in the documentation that comes with OpenSuse 10.3 and got
them working perfectly. In fact the methodology and instructions were far
easier to use than in any Windows environment I've used.
Why not tell us what you tried and what failed? Did you want help, or did
you just come to pitch a bitch?
Why do I get this with mysqlshow?

I can't even access the dam thing from the get go.
