I am using Suse 10.3, and Claws 3.4.0 as mail/news client.

subject, and an option menu should pop up with one option being "create
filter from..." Not familiar with Claws but Seamonkey, Thunderbird and
Pan can do it.
The problem with that approach is that it only creates a filter for that
one "from" address. Then, the sender or senders bypass that filter by using
multiple phony "from" addresses. :-(
