I updated my system running openSUSE 10.3 to a new GeForce 8500 GT
card. I downloaded and installed the latest driver from the NVidia
website. All went well, except at the end of the SAX2 routine, when one
tests the settings the position and width controls have no effect. My
screen remains "slightly" displaced to the left side no matter how many
times I click the adjustment arrows.

Have others experienced this behavior and found a solution?

It happened to me with 10.2 (IIRC). In the end I just adjusted the
position using the hardware controls on the monitor -- not elegant, but
effective.

You may term it "inelegant" but it worked, and somehow this simple solution
never occured to me! ;-)

Thanks for your help
