I'm still fighting the !@#$%^ rat's nest I got into with the PATA/SATA mix -
every time I think I have it straight, I over-write the wrong MBR on a
grub-install and have to start over. For now, I've settled for pulling
everything but the OS drive when I mess with that. For some reason, Vista
keeps things straight but Linux is giving me fits. I know I could fix this
by simply re-installing with the drives in position to begin with but this
machine sees too many hardware configuration changes for that to last. I
really miss the BIOS version I once used that allowed drive assignment
sequence in the BIOS - that always seemed to work.
