SUSE 11 is not out yet. I asume you are talking about openSUSE 11.0
The DVD has
been downloaded, updating button has been hit. and now. after the
updates from the dvd not only it didn't upgrade to 11 but borked my 10
completely (for example - Java lost its updates, KaMix lost its
settings, boot loader went completely mad).
Are you talking about SUSE 10, openSUSE 10.0, openSUSE 10.1, openSUSE
10.2 or openSUSE 10.3 and if SUSE 10, the SLES or the SLED?
The only thing i noticed during the first and further, more manual
updates it could not find some files on the internet.
Thanks for being specific here as well.
I'm beginning to think i got some stupid borked version that i
downloaded that gave the wrong links or I don't know. I'm more of a
windows whizkid and I'm not good enough to go text mode and alter stuff.
That could very well be. It would be nice to know what you are actualy
are working with
I'm Linux user.
So am I. ;-)
Did anyone have similar problem?
Yes.
Or maybe I should save my data (which folders though?), wipe off the
hard drive and give it a clean Suse11 and then move my folders back
again? would it keep all my settings and data?
That is always an option.
Please help if you can. I so don't want to move back to Windows...
nooooooooooooooooooo :)
I would love to help. You just need to imagine that nobody shere sits in
front of your PC and so nobody ccan see what goes on. All we have to
work with is what you tell us and saying: things went wrong somehow,
please help, won't be good enough

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done,
and why. Then do it.
