I am using the latest Firefox, YAST lists it as being there. But when
I do a search for ymp it just comes up with a blank window where all

OK. Open YaST and search for firefox. Which one is installed. Be
specific. Click on the one installed and then on the tab 'Version'. What
is installed and from where.
Mine is "MozillaFirefox 3.0-0.2-i586 from
http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.0"
