Disable the one on the motherboard in the bios. That way you are sure
that it doesn't mix things up for whatever reason.
Tried setting the
Ethernet to DHCP (as I don't use it), disposed off with the gnome
Network Manager applet & ...the grayed-out buttons were not there
anymore & I could de-select the DHCP option....then re-configured &
entered the static IP, DNS's, & now the net connection is as before.
Great to see that it worked out OK.
