So there. This has absolutely not helped me, but instead gave me more
options to select from. Darn!

Look also at power consumption, that's another good point, less wattage is
less noise and cheaper to run :)

Cheaper to run? I do not have an electricity bill. :-D

Think of your ecological footprint and the children of the future :)

The noise? I am seriously thinking about watercooling.

I was (still am) prepared to liquid.
Mainly because I thought I might go to 3+ GHz some time, which is easy
with this equpment to do.

Actually I gained experience with my old system, there was no other way
to make it silent. I ran watercooling like two years.
It was more silent but not more efficient.

This system needs no liquid, I'm on air and whispering.

Since I'm not able to load over 100 % which means I only have one core
load max in use, I've forgotten about clocking for the moment :)

I can make it go to 200 - 300 % by charching with all kinds of
benchmarks and stuff but this system was made to run my real things.

Whatever I do one core may go to 100 % and another maybe 10- 15 %.
Everything happens immediately and I'm happy with that.

Another factor will step in when you actually step into the shop with
some money:

Make a list of you components and show that in shops with some money.
They will bargain when they see the money.

Not an option. The shops I can walk into will never be able to get to
the prices I could get online. e.g. alternate.nl is in anouter country
and if they would bargain when I am there (which they don't) I would not
be able to put serious presure on them, because I otherwise would loose
my money I spend on travel. And that is again more expensive then them
delivering it.

OK. Stopping by is easy for me, there are big international shops and I
drive a cab :)

As for your proc dilemma:
I would go higher in the proc if I had the money. But otoh they'll come
down in time.

If I would have the money, I would go for a dual rack. One full of 1TB
HD's. In a rack you should be able to put about 200 of them in there.
The other rack a variation of hardaware. Those will then be connected to
my 2 huge flatscreens (1 in the living and 1 in the bedroom) 3 large
computer monitors and 1 small monitor. The small oe will be in the
bathroom, with watertoght keyboard and mouse. :-D

The price of that all would be 250.000-500.000 EUR.

On the lowerend, I spend nothing and keep working with my PC, which will
cost me 0EUR.

The HD video was my reasoning.
The protuberances come nowadays in hi res :)

Thas was helpful, wasn't it :)

Yeah, thanks. (NOT!)

Don't mention it :)
