One of my reasons for using this method was to have all functions
including plugins and addons available to both regardless of which one I
used to add
them. The other was to make sure that the data for it was not out
somewhere on a remote system that I can't replace if it's not accessible.
Foxmarks does keep the data on a server somewhere out there.
You don't need the browser much for anything if you can't access "out
there" Browsers are meant to do just that :)
True, if it were a problem with my external connection to the Internet.
What happens if the server for Foxmarks is not responding? I would want a
backup here to cover that, so why not reduce the amount of external traffic
and resulting delays? Would I be able to backup the data on their system
to mine?
Another question about it would be how it works: Does it keep a copy and
update each system when you go online the way the tool from Google worked?
Or is it just a repository?
Also, this was a test to see what could be done - and it has succeeded, for
the entire profile, not just bookmarks.
