Non-scientific poll of those having or not having problems with OpenSuse
11.1

1) Which version did you install 32bit or 64bit?

64bit

2) Which media did you use to install, DVD or KDE LiveCD or Gnome LiveCD
or Network installation?

Gnome LiveCD x86_64

3) Are you running KDE or Gnome Desktop?

Gnome.
Tried the KDE LiveCD and I still prefer the Gnome menus to KDE although I
prefer several KDE applications (KDE-Kate, K3b). Issues with Gnome OS
11.1 seem the same with OS 11.1 KDE LiveCD.

4) If you're having/had problem, did it work correctly in OS 11.0 or
earlier version?

There's number of minor/not so minor problems.
Major: In 10.3 I had a hard time getting a workaround for the correct
screen resolution, same in 11.1. Except once set in 10.3 it was always
correct in 11.1 each login Ihave to reset the resolution with nvidia-
settings.

Medium: PulseAudio works better than it did in 11.0 except in 10.3 and
11.1RC update of 10.3, multichannel sound (4.1, 5.1, 6.1) worked,
PulseAudio in 11.1 only stereo (2ch) works. Manual changes to .asoundrc /
etc/modprobe.d/sound to enable 5.1 only shuts off all sound. Not good
for HD and DTS playback.

minor: Some applications are MIA, notably GDM Login Window, GDM Login
Photo, gnome-menus-editor all available in 10.3 and 11.0. Even after
installing some programs they're MIA from the menu and CLI.

So, I posted the question to try and determine if these are problems
specific to the OS 11.1 LiveCDs or OS 11.1.

Thank you to all who reply.
