I agree, it's on the main page and various reminders on the openSUSE
forum, but still people had issues as they didn't know :(
I always use mirrors rather than the redirector.
I used to do that as well. However since at least one year I never had
an issue. They have changed some things in their re-director. Not only
do they look where you are, they also look at the availablility on the
mirror.
The advantage is that if a mirror is down, I get re-directed to
another one. Less problems then with going to a mirror.
The reason I used to change was that I sometimes got to a mirror with
very low bandwith. Irritating when you do a network install. :-D
Yup, I have that on the few times I've done that. I tend to just
download an iso now and stick it on a USB drive (or shdc).
