Hers a snippet from the Factory release of cdrecord spec file;
Name: cdrecord
Version: 2.01.01a64
%description
Cdrecord allows you to create CDs/DVDs/BDs on a corresponding writer.
This is the original version from Joerg Schilling.

Build from clean sources without patches.

It is insane that suse now has switched to wodim from cdrecord.

No, looks like they switched back......

Nope

Release notes for 10.3
"Tools to Write Optical Disc Media (CD-ROM and DVD)

The cdrecord package has been dropped from the distribution. The new
wodim, genisoimage, and icedax packages from the cdrkit project can be
used to record data or audio CDs on a CD recorder that conforms with the
Orange Book standard."

Maybe they have backtracked somewhere.

And where do you see any problem? Wodim works just fine

And I certainly don't want to see twits like Jörg Schilling (author of the
original Cdrecord) again playing his bullshit game.

There is a reason Debian originally forked cdrecord. Actually, there are
several reasons
