i've looked at several and so far none have pleased me like Warp and
its desktop did..

I'm running KDE 3.5 here and so are the groups I provide support for - they
are the big problem for me with KDE 4. So far I've gotten totally negative
reactions to switching from 3.5 to 4.3 because of the time and training
costs.

I still think the Warp 4 desktop was the most useful one I've found. I
still use it for supporting some instrumentation systems I designed as much
as 20 years ago - mainly because of the cross-compilers I have plus the
hardware design info (I built them from the ground up). Between the
desktop and the thread model, nothing else has come close.
