I've just installed SuSE 11.2 and am having some trouble adjusting toDownload Gnome packages. KDE4 is a lost cause. I closed that icon box on
KDE 4.3. In particular,
How can I get a desktop icon for an application, e.g. java -jar test.jar.
How can I place an application icon in the taskbar, e.g. Thunderbird.
How can I save Konsole 'History'?

the desktop and could find no fracking way to get it back. I dragged and
dropped an icon on the desktop and it didn't work, it was transparent
but non fuctional. I gave up on KDE; again.
Right click on desktop, make sure to unlock widgets, then Add Widgets, select Folder View, hit Add Widget at bottom/then Close.
There will be a Home Folder, hover over it, then select the "wrench" options button. In that window, tick on Show the Desktop
folder, and hit OK.
" " All that for a desktop icon!! <pats KDE 3.5>
