I am using openSUSE 11.3 64-bit, KDE desktop. I am a newbie with Linux...
I am having troubles viewing a site that uses Flash Player. The tech
support guy for the site suggested that I re-install the Flash Player
plugin and, if that would not solve the problem, re-install Firefox.
Well, I uninstalled and then re-installed Flash Player several times but
that did not solve my problem. I then proceeded to uninstall Firefox
and re-install it again.
To my surprise, after I re-installed Firefox I noticed that all my
custom bookmarks were there -- and so were my extensions and plugins! I
was expecting to be presented with the basic version of Firefox, i.e.
without custom bookmarks, extensions, plugins...
I uninstalled and then re-installed the following packages:
* Mozilla Firefox v. 3.6.12-1.2
* Mozilla Firefox Branding openSUSE v. 4.0-7.1
* Mozilla Firefox Theme Oxygen v. 1.4.92-6.1
I right-clicked each package and chose Delete, so I am fairly sure that
the deletion process was done correctly. What am I doing wrong?
I am still having problem viewing the site that uses Flash Player, so
any help is welcome.
Your user specific settings do not get removed. They are stored in a hidden
folder in your home directory. .mozilla/firefox Are you sure you want to
lose them?? You could at least make a backup copy first.
So whats the site? So one of us can test it as well.
HTH :-)
