Questions on AutoUpdate SLES 10.x

I have a vendor supplied SLES 10.x server and I am tring to
define/enable auto update. It appears to be enabled but it never
yields any updates.

My guess is that the repositories need updating. On SLES 10.x can
anyone advise as to where one can find that definition? Eventually I
should come across it but I thought I would ask and also to see if
anyone is using the auto-update tool successfully.
