Re: Virtual Memory Swap
Running a Pentium D with 1 gig memory. I have noticed that opening a web
browser drives both cores up to a constant 100% usage. While at the same
time, the virtual memory swap stays at around 13% with no change.
Doesn't seem right.
Am I wrong?
With a dual core AMD at 2.5 GH, 4G RAM, 4G Swap, I never see swap being
used, and 0.7G of RAM. CPU on both cores average about 20% and peak at about
40%. Running Firefox 5.0, it goes to 0.8G of RAM and up to 80% during page
loading, with averate about30% for both cores.
Did you try shutting add-ons to Firefox down? One of them may be a hog.
Also, with 1G RAM you should be using a light weight window manager, XFCE or
