That is the difference between you and me, I _do_ want to know how it works.
It _is_ the file kdmrc that is changed, but exactly what and where, so that
I can also do it remote by hand, that is what I need to know:
/usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc
is the config file (in openUSE 11.3/KDE 4.4).
In mine there is this section:
[X-:*-Core]
AllowShutdown=All
