Uh. What now? What do you mean by 'transfer to KDE3'? What does not seem
to work?

What I do in ANY situation (CLI or GUI) is see that where I read from is
readable and write to is writable. I have not seen any difference in
CLI or GUI and no difference in the different Desktops.

The only difference is with the programs I might use.

So please elaborate and tell what you did exactly and what went wrong
and error messages and what not.

houghi

I have images I took with my Droid and want to transferthem to my computer.
I did this in the past via Bluetooth. Nothing went wrong ! I just thought
I'd use the USB cable now. I could do it the Bluetooth way but that seems
slow and I thought plugging in the USB cable would be quicker/easier. I
don't care if it's gui or cli. Either is o.k. When I plug in the USB
cable I don't see any notification so it seems I need to set something up
or do something to make it work. That's what I am asking. What procedure
do I follow ? With Bluetooth I got a notification but that's after
installing Bluetooth programs (Kbluetooth). Is there something I need to
install for the USB connection to work ? It may already be installed, if
not, I'll install it/them. You mention the only difference is with the
program you might use so what program would I use to transfer files (in
this case image files) to a (KDE) folder ?

Hope that makes sense...
