Command line SSL/SMTP AUTH client

Howdy --

I'm trying to send an SSL encrypted email (port 465) to an
authenticated (SMTP AUTH) server, from an unattended shell
script. So that means I need to be able to call it from the command
line, tell it to use SSL (port 465), and pass it the username and
password for the account I want to be used.

I'm not too horribly concerned with how the password is kept before
its passed to the mail command. It will be a generic dummy password
with no other privileges, other than to send mail. Plain text is ok. I
was able to setup pine with ssl and authentication, but I couldn't get
it to store the password (although I believe if I recompile it I
could), but more importantly I couldn't get it to send a message from
the command line. I would really like to be able to pass something all
the options as a command line argument, or have a configuration file.

Any idea how I can do this?

Thanks!
P.S. For various reasons I cannot setup my own mail server, nor can I
change any of the settings on the mail server I'm using. I need to
send authenticated ssl mail from the command line :) Thanks!
