RedHat 9 or Mandrake 9.1

Sorry for the stupid newbie questions, but I couldn't find a definitive
answer elsewhere.
Which of these two distros would be better suited for a casual home user
that is half curious about Linux and half frustrated with Windows?
I'm thinking Mandrake, but I just want to make sure there isn't a better
option out there.
BTW, can Mandrake use RPM's out of the box?
