Hello,
I've just recently put together a new RH 9 box. I installed all
packages during the install.
There are two annying problems
1) It is always loading the iptables modules on bootup, right after
XINTETD. I have told it NOT to load iptables because I want to use
ipchains. I can't figure out why it loads iptables. I'm working around
this by puting /sbin/rmmod statements in my rc.local file but thats a
hack and I want to do this the right way.
2) Sendmail is broken. It won't send any emails. I don't care about
receiving emails but it won't send any. If a user sends email it
complains that the user cannot connet. IF root sends, it gives no error
message but mail still doesn't get delivered. I've worked around this
by enabling postfix instead, but i'm still irritated by sendmail not
sending mail.
THanks in advance for any insight.
