g3 ppc hardware support

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking of selling my current laptop and buying a older model g3
to run linux on.

Would it be safe to assume that since apple products use such a narrow
range of hardware that everything would be supported by linux? Or, would
alot of hardware be unsupported because it's not pc arch?
