Try: shutdown now
Or: shutdown -h now
You could also change the "-r" to "-h" in the line in
/etc/inittab so it does a shutdown instead of a reboot.

# What to do at the "Three Finger Salute".
# ca::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t5 -r now

This isn't windows so you can't "DoubleClick" to install programs
if you download the source code it must be compiled before it can
be used. Read the README and INSTALL files included with the
source package.

You are probably looking for Samba if you are wanting to use
"Network Neighborhood" or whatever it is that windows calls it.
