Yeah, I mean...I know my hardware....but only to a certain extent.
Like, I've got an:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ processor
ECS K7S5A motherboard
NVIDIA AGP Riva TNT2 64 Video card
Creative Soundblaster Live Sound Card
SIS 900 PCI Ethernet
Promise Ultra100 TX2 IDE Controller Card
With 512 mb PC2100 memory
But as far as what drivers I should use for communicating with the bus or
PCI slots..., or other more techinical hardware questions....<shrugs> You
got me.
Guess though if I just choose to load it as a module....I'm safe, right? In
fact, if there's a way to find out which modules are loaded, why not just
start from scratch and load everything as a module. Then get a list of what
gets loaded and recompile the kernel based on that. Possible? Sure
upgrades might screw things up, but ussually when I do an upgrade, it's a
major upgrade and I reinstall the OS.
Thanks for all your help!
