That's not an error! That's an advisory. You need a lib.

apt for redhat.

Why on earth don't you just use sendmail like the rest of the universe?
And "no", you cannot "do an rpm". You can install THE rom of exim for
your distro. What's yoru problem with that? DO you LIKE acting like
laurel in laurel and hardy?

Compile. Why do you want 3 instead of 4? RH comes with 4 these days.
There are precompiled rpms for 6.2.
What kind of weird strategies are you following, and why? What have you
got against plain and simple sendmail?
