Thats my other option

Your reading my mind, I just said to my wife that I was considering putting
linux on the new machine. Sort of got the eye since I had promised that I
would not do that BUT linux to linux has to be better than this. And yes I
would upgrade to XP Pro in a second to get away from this. The only reason
that I want to keep a win machine other than my wife (thats a big one) is
that a stock trading software program with streaming quotes that I use will
not run on linux . Actually there are almost no trading platforms on linux
which I just don't understand but it is what it is. However this box is
dual boot RH9 and win98 and if I put linus on the xp machine as dual boot
linux XP then I would still have a win machine that way.

And I want to continue to try to get the internet working for sure if
nothing else for the experience after all the time I have invested in this.

I really appreciate you guys sticking with this.
