Internet connection problem

Hi
I've been using Linux on and off for a while and I have come up with a
problem I can't seem to figure out.
I first setup Linux-Mandrake 9.0 to the Internet through a ethernet card
and my Network. Now I removed the ethernet card and added a modem. The
modem connects ok but I can't ping anything other than localhost.
Here's the ifconfig output:
