user/group quota question

I was under the hope that if you set aquota.group that it would apply to
each individual in the group - not the group as a whole.
i.e. If I set group:students to have a hard quota of 5meg on /home then
each individual in that group, on that partition would be limited to 5 meg.
But to my surprise it appears to mean that the group as a whole gets 5 meg.
If that is the case, how do you set the hard limit for each user in the
student group to be 5meg when you have 800 users? Is there a script already
created for that or am I missing something else?
