you can load the image file onto the flash drive and then run it from vmware
installed on the box. i'm not sure if it will work but you may even want to
trying installing it onto the flash drive though as well and seeing if it will
run without being installed (this would mean no network and possibly no
accessing of files on the windows box).
no way around the price issue.
